Behind EuroHive
EuroHive is built by someone who has sat on the other side of the table.
Lucca Kjær Sørensen has worked freelance for twenty years. That is where the platform comes from — twenty years of invoices paid a month too late, of clients in another country and a VAT rule neither party fully understood, and of platforms built somewhere else for someone else.
Europe was missing a marketplace of its own. The big platforms were built in Silicon Valley for a US market first, and everything European — VAT across borders, GDPR, local payment methods, the way European projects actually run — was added afterwards. If at all.

The platform rests on three principles
Security
The money sits in escrow before the work begins. Getting paid is not a question of trust, or of chasing someone for six weeks.
Access
Freelancing should not be reserved for those who already have a network. It should work just as well for someone earning a little on the side as for someone who lives from it.
An open market
27 countries, one place, without an American intermediary taking a cut of European work.
Alongside the work on the platform, Lucca Kjær Sørensen is studying financial management. EuroHive is run from Odense, Denmark, and registered under CVR 34808090. The platform is in beta.
